Description
Calliandra angustifolia, known as Bobinsana, is used for various purposes. Some indigenous tribes use it in shamanic practices, and it is sometimes associated with spiritual and healing rituals.
The Shipibo-Conibo people of the Peruvian Amazon prepare a medicinal tincture from the bark of the tree Calliandra angustifolia. They use it to treat rheumatism, and used as a tonic, stimulant, and depurative. It is sometimes added to ayahuasca. Peruvians believe Bobinsana to be a highly spiritual and healing plant.
Also known as Sirenita de los cantos, Peruvians also believe the Bobinsana plant provides icaros (songs of the plant) or sacred chants, and regular usage improves dream state visions, as well as musical channelling.
