Description
Turbina corymbosa, known as Ololiuqui, is a vigorous woody vine native to Latin America, Mexico and Peru. A traditional sacrament of Mexican shaman, this species is used shamanically, medicinally and for divination purposes.
Turbina corymbosa is a perennial vine that grows to a length of 10m. The stem is slender, woody, branching and twining; the leaves are glossy green and heart shaped. The flowers are white, trumpet shaped and approx. 4cm across and the fruit are soft woody capsules containing one seed.
The seeds contain ergine (LSA), an ergoline alkaloid similar in structure to LSD. They have similar traditional uses to Argyreia nervosa seeds. It is said the Aztecs used Ololiuqui seeds to communicate with the gods.

Pruning: Turbina corymbosa is a vigorous tropical climbing vine that benefits from regular pruning to keep it manageable and encourage dense healthy growth.
Pests and Diseases: Monitor your plant for pests like aphids or spider mites. Turbina corymbosa is generally fairly resilient, but like many fast-growing tropical vines it can attract common sap-sucking pests, especially in warm humid weather. Treat infestations promptly with insecticidal soap, Eco Oil or Neem Oil
Soil: You need a high quality potting mix, not a pre-bagged product such as you find at Bunnings etc, try a landscaping place. However, as I am not local to you I still can’t say if they have good quality or not. You are looking for well composted pine bark and large particles. This ensures air flow to the roots and good drainage.
We recommend Yates Nutricote Standard Black 270 Day for a fertiliser, which can be found in our store, however any good quality slow release fertiliser will do. When time to re-pot, select a pot one size up ONLY and ensure it has many holes for good drainage.
