Paeonia lactiflora, commonly known as White Peony, is a traditional medicinal plant widely used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The dried root—often referred to as Bai Shao—has been valued for centuries for its calming, nourishing, and balancing properties.
How to Brew White Peony Tea
Heat water to a boil in a saucepan. Use 2-5 tsp’s for each cup of water. Cover and simmer for 20-30 minutes. Strain and add a sweetener of choice. Serve.
The flavour is mildly bitter with slightly sour undertones, offering a cooling and grounding quality.
