Celastrus paniculatus (Intellect Tree / Malkangni) Cold Pressed Oil

Price range: $9.90 through $13.90

Description

Celastrus paniculatus Oil (Malkangani / Jyotishmati Oil / Intellect Tree) is traditionally valued in Ayurvedic herbal practice as a powerful brain and nervous system tonic. Extracted from the seeds of the Celastrus plant, this oil has long been associated with supporting memory, concentration, learning ability, and overall mental clarity. In traditional use it is believed to help reduce mental fatigue and support cognitive function.

Malkangani oil is also widely used for external massage. It has traditionally been applied to help ease muscle and joint discomfort and is commonly used in massage preparations for conditions associated with inflammation, stiffness, and nerve-related pain. Herbal traditions also recognise its use in supportive care for issues such as sciatica, arthritis, lumbago, and general body aches.

In addition to its neurological and musculoskeletal applications, Malkangani oil has historically been used to support digestion and appetite, and is considered to possess antioxidant and stimulating properties.

The oil is often used for scalp massage, where it is traditionally believed to promote circulation and relaxation, potentially helping with stress, headaches, and sleep disturbances.

Due to its potency, only very small amounts are traditionally used, either diluted for massage or blended with carrier oils.
