Description
Organic Comfrey dried root, botanical name Symphytum officinale, has a long history of use in traditional herbal medicine. People have often used it topically to promote wound healing, dermatitis, and psoriasis. It is known for reducing inflammation, and alleviating pain from sprains, bruises, and other injuries. Known for its high content of allantoin, comfrey root helps stimulate cell growth and repair damaged tissues.
Despite its beneficial properties, comfrey root should be used with caution, as it contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids, which can be toxic to the liver. Therefore, it is recommended for external use only.
