Chanca Piedra has traditionally been used for breaking down kidney stones, and due to it being an alkaline herb, it may also help prevent acidic kidney stones from forming. It contains chemicals that might relieve spasms and increase urine, plus aid against bacteria and viruses. It is thought that Chanca Piedra may affect gallstones in a similar way to kidney stones.
Chanca Piedra’s antioxidant properties may improve liver function. It may also help protect your liver from cellular damage caused by free radicals, which can cause damage when they reach high levels in your body.
