Acacia floribunda (Gossamer Wattle) Seed

Price range: $4.90 through $29.90

Description

Acacia floribunda, known as Gossamer Wattle, is a species of Acacia native to southeastern Australia. It’s known for its attractive, fluffy cream-coloured flowers that bloom in late winter to spring, adding a beautiful touch to the landscape. This species typically grows as a small tree or shrub, reaching heights of around 5-8 metres.

Acacia floribunda is valued not only for its ornamental flowers but also for its ability to stabilize soil due to its extensive root system. In Australian ecosystems, it plays a role in providing habitat and food for various native wildlife species.

It is native to New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, but is cultivated extensively, and has naturalised in South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia, and also in Indonesia, Mauritius and northern New Zealand. Contains tryptamine alkaloids.

Approx. 130 seeds per gram.

Common Name: Grossamer Wattle; Weeping Acacia; White Sallow Wattle; White Sally Wattle.

Germination Tips: To increase the germination rate, the seed should be treated first. It can be soaked in hot water or the seed can be nicked or scarred so that water will penetrate the seed’s hard coating and induce germination. Use a sandy free draining soil mix and place in a warm area.

Our Guarantee

We personally count every seed packet to ensure it contains at least the specified number of seeds. However, mistakes can happen, so please reach out if you notice any inconsistencies.

These seeds are believed to meet the standard viability percentage for their species, sourced either from our own SAB nursery or from reputable, trusted breeders.
