Description
Acacia cultriformis, commonly referred to as Knife-Toothed Wattle, is a perennial shrub or tree indigenous to Australia. It reaches heights of up to 4 metres, featuring triangular-shaped phyllodes. Adorned with a striking array of bright yellow flowers, it is frequently encountered in central New South Wales and southern Queensland, favouring clay-loam or sandstone soils, and often thriving on rocky ridges.
Acacia cultriformis is widely utilised for cut flowers, owing to its aesthetic appeal. Additionally, its flowers are edible, and yellow dye can be extracted from them, while the seed pods yield green dye.

Germination Tips: To increase the germination rate, Acacia cultriformis seed should be treated first. It can be soaked in hot water or the seed can be nicked or scarred so that water will penetrate the seed’s hard coating and induce germination. Use a sandy free draining soil mix and place in a warm area.
