Description
Acacia courtii, commonly known as Three Brother Wattle, is a rare wattle native to the mid north coast region of the Middle Brother and North Brother Mountains, southwest of Port Macquarie, Australia. It is a tall shrub or weeping tree growing to 7-20 metres in height.
The bark is smooth and grey when young and later becomes black and furrowed. Small branches are a maroon brown colour. The leaves are dull green and narrow, up to 18 cm long, and have a small gland on the leaf edge just above the stem.
From late spring to mid-summer spikes of pale yellow globular flowers are produced followed by straight or curved, narrow woody pods up to 18 cm long. This wattle usually grows on steep, dry, rocky slopes and in mixed dry forest on shallow soils, often under a canopy of White Mahogany and Grey Gum.

Ideal Growing Conditions.
Acacia courtii’s naturally grow in dry sclerophyll forests, in shallow soils, however it can adapt well to semi arid to semi tropical conditions as long as soil is well draining.
Pruning: Minimal pruning is needed. Lightly prune after flowering to maintain shape or remove any dead or crossing branches. Avoid heavy cutting into old wood, as new growth may not return quickly.
Pests and Diseases: Acacia courtii are generally pest and disease resistant. Occasionally, you may see sap-sucking insects, like aphids or scale, which can be controlled with insecticidal soap, Eco Oil or Neem Oil
Soil: You need a high quality potting mix, not a pre-bagged product such as you find at Bunnings etc, try a landscaping place. However, as I am not local to you I still can’t say if they have good quality or not. You are looking for well composted pine bark and large particles. This ensures air flow to the roots and good drainage. When time to re-pot, select a pot one size up ONLY and ensure it has many holes for good drainage.
