A peruvianus cross pollination of DAWSONS#1 and JOHN. A seed cross from Australian breeder Rodni Kisar.

A highly desired, very blue peruvianus, Dawsons#1 originated from and was named after Dawsons Garden in Bendigo VIC. An Australian clone and the first of the Dawsons named peruvianus clones. A very worthy specimen.

John is an Australian clone originating from Dawsons Garden, Bendigo VIC. A cutting of this peruvianus was gifted to Rodni Kisar, an Australian breeder, who named the plant after the current nursery owner. John is one of the most beautiful peruvianus in our collection with grey-white wool on the areoles and long golden spines, that look white with age, lining the blue grey glaucous body.

A hybrid is formed when crossing two genetically different species with each other. Most hybrids are manmade however some are natural.
With cross pollination the mother plant is the first name, and the father plant is the second. The mother is the plant whose flower was pollenated, and the fruit ripens on, and the father is the pollen donor. When the crossing plants, in most cases, the resulting offspring comes closer to the mother than to the father. However, there are a lot of exceptions to this and sometimes, the genes of the father are simply more dominant.
