Araucaria spp.



The Araucaria genus is comprised of approximately 19 species of pine-like conifer trees indigenous to the southern hemisphere. Araucaria are mainly large trees with a massive erect stem, reaching a height of 5–80 metres. Some species produce edible nuts known as Araucaria nuts, or incorrectly as Pine nuts, while other species are important for timber production.
